Terms of Use

Last updated: September 9, 2026

These terms govern your use of the Kalme iOS app and this website, both published by Crolab (details on the Legal Notice page). By using Kalme you accept them.

What Kalme does

Kalme is an 8-week habituation program for people who live with tinnitus. You answer a questionnaire, the app builds a daily schedule from your answers, and each day gives you a short lesson, a guided exercise and a sound practice, about ten minutes in total. You match your own pitch so the app can build a background sound around it, you get a library of soft sounds for the night, and you log a short daily check-in so you can follow your own trend. The app also includes an optional AI companion called "Talk to the cloud".

Kalme is not a medical device and does not give medical advice. It does not replace a doctor, an ENT or an audiologist, and it makes no promise about how your tinnitus will evolve. The score the app shows you is a self-assessment tool to follow your own change over time, not a medical opinion.

See a doctor before or alongside the program if your tinnitus is in one ear only, pulses with your heartbeat, started suddenly, or comes with hearing loss, dizziness, ear pain or a head injury. Stop and ask for advice if a session makes you feel worse. Tinnitus can have causes that a daily program will not address.

The chat is an AI companion, not a doctor. It is a conversation with a language model, it can be wrong, and nothing it says is medical advice. If you are in distress, contact your local emergency services. In the United States, call or text 988.

Your account

You can use Kalme without giving an email address. If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for what happens under your account. Kalme is for adults; you must be at least 16 to create an account.

Subscriptions

Kalme Pro is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through the App Store, at $19.99 per month or $129.99 per year, with a 7-day free trial on the yearly plan:

You can restore a previous purchase at any time with Restore purchases, on the purchase screen and in Settings.

Acceptable use

Do not try to break, reverse-engineer, scrape or resell the app, and do not use it to harm anyone. Do not use the chat to obtain medical advice, and do not present anything the app produces as a medical opinion, yours or anyone else's.

Availability

We do our best to keep Kalme working, but we do not promise it will be available without interruption. We may change or discontinue features, including the chat, which depends on a third-party model provider. If we discontinue a paid feature during a period you have paid for, contact us.

Liability

Kalme is provided as an educational and wellness tool. To the extent permitted by law, Crolab is not liable for indirect damages, nor for any decision you take about your health on the basis of the app or of the chat. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, in particular in case of bodily injury caused by our fault. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

Intellectual property

The app, its program, its texts, its sounds, its illustrations and its code belong to Crolab. Your subscription gives you a personal, non-transferable right to use them, nothing more.

Governing law

French law applies. If an amicable resolution cannot be reached, the French courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you keep the right to bring proceedings before the courts of your place of residence.

Changes

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and tell you in the app.
